June 12, 2009 marked the transformation from analog to digital television. The era of analog broadcast television in the United States came to an end. The Federal Communications Commission, Congress, service providers, community agencies, public officials, as well as countless numbers of volunteers worked diligently for many months to facilitate in this transition.

In addition, to ensure that our country’s most vulnerable populations were prepared, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provided funding for outreach and technical assistance to the elderly, handicapped, low income, and those with limited English speaking abilities.

Through an extremely competitive bid process, the Tekreation Center, LLC(Tekreation) of Cincinnati, Ohio was selected by the FCC to implement mobile clinics throughout Ohio. Tekreation coined the name “Ohio Get Converted”(OGC) to emphasize the need for Ohioans to get on board with the DTV conversion and to raise awareness. OGC clinics were implemented to provide consumers with a hands-on demonstration as to how to install the digital television converter box in addition to pertinent related FCC publication materials.
